JUNIOR COACHING
STC junior programmes cater for all ages and abilities: from 4 year olds picking up a racket for the first time to national level juniors. Our expert coaches will help your child develop new skills in a fun and energetic approach, along with developing their tennis skills your child will also learn multiple life skills whilst achieving a sense of accomplishment and boosting self-esteem.

Blue Stage (4-5 years)
Our Blue Stage sessions are designed to help children at reception school year with their balance, agility and co-ordination whilst teaching them the sport we love. At this stage it’s not about winning or losing, it’s just getting to grips with the basics.
Red Stage (5-7 years)
Our Red Stage will look a bit more like the tennis you know. You’ll see overarm serves, rallies and volleys. Coaches will help children to further develop their co-ordination, balance and speed. We’ll introduce relaxed fun competition here too.
Orange Stage (8-9 years)
Orange Stage tennis is played on a larger, but not full size court. Here it’s time to throw in some tactics, problem-solving, and guides to sportsmanship and leadership. At this stage children will know all of the rules and will be serving and returning in matches.
Green Stage (9-10 years)
Green Stage is the big one!! Children continue to progress and move up to full size courts. This is the final stage before moving onto full yellow balls. Now it’s all about growing their game by fine tuning and refining the techniques they’ve learned so far.
Yellow Stage (12&U)
At Yellow Stage, children continue their progress playing on a full size court with the same size balls the pros use, children will continue to explore different styles on the court, and start to choose their own. These sessions are for children 12 years and under.

At Yellow Stage, children continue their progress playing on a full size court with the same size balls the pros use, children will continue to explore different styles on the court, and start to choose their own. These sessions are for children 13 to 16 years.
Competition
STC are very committed to making sure our players compete at the right events. We strongly encourage internal matchplay and competition at our venues. The STC coaching team will regularly be at LTA events checking in on how players are doing and keeping up to date with the standards across junior tennis in the South East. We also enter teams every winter & summer into LTA NJLTT events.
Junior Performance
For junior players competing regularly and looking to represent Surrey County Tennis we are partnered with the Performance Academy Programme at Oxshott Tennis Club and Weybridge Warriors Tennis Academy at Weybridge LTC. Both programmes are top performing training bases in the county producing many County, Regional and National players and most recently Surrey 10&U County Champion 2023.
Qualified Coaches
All our coaches are experienced LTA Level 3 to LTA Level 5 professionally qualified, all members of the coaching team are DBS checked & LTA accredited + meaning they attend yearly development courses to further enhance their coaching knowledge and experience to give you the assurance of the highest standards of coaching that we pride ourselves on delivering.

Equipment provided
If your child does not have a racket we can provide the equipment. As an official partner with Weybridge Sports we can also assist you when purchasing your own racket.
Sessions for all tastes
Group coaching, Individual sessions and Shared lessons are all available with our coaching team. Surrey Tennis Coaching will also travel to you if you have your own court.
